Relax in the historic Manor House in the quiet island of Hamnøy, Lofoten.
Either you want to take a hike in the mountains, fish in the ocean or see the Northern Lights, everything is literally just outside the house.
The house has three double rooms and one single room. All the rooms have an amazing view towards the ocean and mountains. The doors are locked with codes.
There are two shared bathrooms, two living rooms, kitchen with all the amenities, two balconies, washing room and a terrace in the garden.
Either book one of the rooms or book the whole house, if you want to have everything for yourself!
The Manor House is from 1890 and was the main point for everything going on in Hamnøy. There were cabins where the fishermen stayed while they were participating in the great "Lofot-Fishing". There was also a bakery where it was possible to get freshly baked bread, and a small shop (Krambua) where you could get what you needed.
The fish was landed at the pier and then exported to Europe and the rest of the world. Stockfish and clipfish were the main products for export.
In the beginning the fishing was done from wooden sailboats like "åttring", "fembøring" and smaller boats. After the introduction of motor powered boats around 1920, the sailboats were resigned. You can read more about this if you click on History or when you arrive :-)
Cook your own food in the fully equipped kitchen, have a coffee on the balcony while you enjoy the view, or just relax in one of the living rooms.
There is also a nice restaurant, Gadus in Hamnøy. Please check out gaduslofoten.no for more info.
